Hardy Water Lilies
Hardy Water Lilies | Pond Lilies | Pondbiz, Family Owned & Operated
Water Lilies are without a doubt the jewels of a pond. Showy, Large, and with a long blooming season, Water lilies go unrivaled. All Water lilies go dormant in the Winter, but Hardy Water Lilies are perennials and frost tolerant from zones 3 thru 11, so they come back each year. Leaves are supported on stalks called petioles. Blooms open when exposed to sunlight, and then close late afternoon. Blooms last from 3-5 days. We offer high quality Hardy Water Lilies that blossom in a variety of sizes and colors. They prefer water that is neutral to alkaline water and do best when planted in water that is 75 degrees which varies by zone. Most require at least 4 hours of sunlight per day. They can be planted in pots or directly in the pond bottom. Fertilize monthly during blooming season. During winter, cut back to 1-2" and place in the deep end of pond. Looking for some serious showstoppers? Tropical Water Lilies bloom bigger and longer. They are more sensitive to cold, however, and won't usually come back the following year unless your water temperature stays warm. See overwintering care for Hardy Water Lilies.
Pond plants ship when water temperatures in your zone can support them.
